Today we have yet another interesting product from Pleomax, and this time it's a wireles combo -wireless keyboard and mouse.
Pleomax PCC-4600 Wireless Combo Keyboard + Mouse
Packaging:
This wireless set comes in a quite large black and gray box with a plastic window in the middle; just in case you want to take a closer look at this potentially yours electric-rodent.
Apart from the keyboard and the mouse, you’ll find a user manual, driver CD, 2.4GHz USB receiver and four batteries, two for each device.
Keyboard:
When you open the box, you’ll see a beautifully designed black multimedia keyboard. You’ll instantly notice a row of grey buttons on the top as well as the unusual circle, resembling a wheel, on the upper right part.
The dimensions are 475 x 175 x 23mm and it weighs not so modest 650 grams. Add the weight of two LR6 AA batteries and you’ll get a result of 680-690 grams.
The keyboard has 118 keys, 13 of them functioning as hotkeys for Internet, email, multimedia, sleep mode, etc.
Sleep key is placed on the top left of the keyboard, while the top right wheel is volume control.
fter installation, your system tray will feature mouse and keyboard setup icons. You can, of course, assign and customize hotkeys on your keyboard, but only four of them – the rest are factory pre-assigned.
The keys feel good, and they’re quite soft, so working long hours won’t be a problem. This expensive set of keys used by Pleomax will definitely make your typing easier. We found the volume wheel particularly useful, especially if you’re using it on a notebook where you usually have to use a combination of keys to turn your music up.
Still, we didn’t quite like the fact that the keyboard weighs 700 grams and that the plastic case is made out of cheap plastic.
Mouse
We previously tested the mouse from this set and it looks great. We rated it as a slightly more advanced optic mouse that reminded us of Logitech’s MX-518.
The dimensions are 121 x 79 x 44 mm, and without batteries it weighs 90 grams. Although it packs two batteries, it’s not too heavy and that’s often not the case with wireless mice. The tracking speed of this mouse is 14’’/s.
Thanks to the ergonomic design, the mouse fits nicely and it’s good for long hours. It has 8 buttons and a scroll wheel. Its resolution is 1000 dpi, which is more than enough for “Office” users.
The only thing we found wrong is that the buttons in the middle are awkwardly placed and you have to lift your hand off the mouse in order to reach them.
Reciever
The reciever is a small USB 1.1 device resembling a small memory stick. Its dimensions are 42 x 14,4 x 7 mm and it weighs 10 grams.
Conclusion
This is a nice set that’ll look good anywhere. Priced at €40, we’d say it's a pretty good deal. However, if you’re a hardcore gamer then this might not be the best option for you.
