From Intel we hope

A senior
guy from AMD that we've met at Cebit has told us that AMD is gaining share with its Phenom II CPUs. Since the launch, the sale is doing really well and after the patch Phenom II X3 720 is selling like hot cakes.

Phenom II X3 demand has surprised AMD and they cannot get or sell enough of them which is generally a positive thing. The quad-core enable story has definitely helped the sales of this CPU and it definitely has its audience that like the fact that motherboard, CPU and memory for AMD's platform cost much less than a similar platform from Intel.

We don’t know how much AMD gained in share, but it’s good to know that they are recovering. The Dragon platform is also doing fine and there will be more good things to come from AMD side until the end of the year. Good job boys.
