Will release same day as COD:MW2 map pack

Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks to turn up the volume on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the news that DICE will cut loose the first set of map packs for BFBC2 on March 30th , which happens to be the same date that the exclusive window will open for Xbox 360 users to be able to buy the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack.

It is estimated that this new map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will cost 800 Microsoft Points, while the first BFBC2 map pack will be free for VIP members. DICE claims that the decision to release this map pack at no charge has more to do with making sure that the customer has a fresh experience in order to provide  proper value for the money that they invested in BFBC2. The bigger release is also an effort to prevent the segmentation that sometimes happens when map packs are offered for sale and some players buy them and others don’t. This makes sure that all players have access to the same maps.

As everyone already knows, these maps are already on the disc and are unlocked with the VIP code that is included with each new copy of Battlefield Bad Company 2. For those that purchased a used copy, you can pay $15 and download the map pack if want to add these new maps.
