Raja Koduri leaves Intel

by on21 March 2023

Pat gives him a farewell pat

Raja Koduri, Intel's VP and chief architect, is leaving Intel by the end of March, as confirmed by Intel's CEO, Pat Gelsigner.

Thanking him for his many contributions to "Intel tech & architecture", especially with high-performance graphics that brought three new product lines to market in 2022, Pat Gelsinger, CEO at Intel, gave Raja Koduri a pat on the back.

Raja M. Koduri was working at Intel, and still is for that matter, at least until the end of March, as executive vice president and chief architect, where he was moved from the head of the AXG business unit back when Intel reorganized.

Before getting those Arc series graphics cards on track, Raja Koduri started at S3 Graphics, back in 1996, and then joined ATI in 2001. He joined AMD back when it acquired ATI in 2006, after which he jumped to Apple from 2009 to 2013. He was at Intel since 2017.

While there were some rumors earlier and has been hit hard with delays of its Arc Alchemist GPU series, Intel seems committed to its discrete GPU plans, something that Pat Gelsinger was keen to confirm on numerous occasions.

While there are still no precise details, Raja Koduri did note it will be going to the software market, and starting a software startup and more information will be shared in the coming weeks.

We certainly wish him all the luck and hopefully, we will hear more from him.
