Asus's mounting for 3D printed parts

Asus has released a new motherboard with a new feature which will enable mounting for 3D printed parts

The Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura has a custom mounting system which will allow enthusiasts to print their own nameplates, design new protective 'armor' and cable-management devices.  All good stuff if you don't take your cards seal the box and never open it again until the dust catches fire.

The board comes with the usual gaming and overclocking features including Sonic Radar II, LANGuard for superior network traffic and 5-way Optimisation and Asus' Aura lighting technology, which lets you customise the board's built-in LEDs.

It has an LGA 1151 socket for 6th-generation Intel Core i3, i5, i7, Pentium and Celeron processors, Intel Z170 chipset, 4 x DIMMs which can handle up to 64GB DDR4 3466MHz (OC), 2 x PCI Express® 3.0/2.0 x16 (at x 16 or x8/x8), 1 x PCI Express 3.0/2.0 x16(max at x 4), 3 x PCI Express 3.0 x1. There is an Integrated Intel HD Graphics processor, Multi-VGA output support: DisplayPort, HDMI, D-sub, DVI ports for the graphics.  It supports DisplayPort, HDMI DVI, D-sub, Intel InTru 3D, Quick Sync Video, Clear Video HD Technology, Insider. It can support Two-way NVIDIA SLI and three-way AMD CrossFireX.

There are 6 x SATA 6Gbps ports, with 1 x M.2 Socket 3 up to 22110 (PCIe® 3.0 x4 and SATA modes supported), Intel Gigabit LAN with GameFirst IV and ASUS LANGuard and all the USB ports you can eat.  

It should sell for about $150 in the US.
