It appears that Sony is going all out at the Mobile World Congress 2017 show as, according to the latest information, it will unveil a total of five new smartphones, including a 5.5-inch flagship, codename Yoshino.

Currently, it is still not clear if this would be the full lineup of Sony's high-end smartphones for 2017, which could make sense since the company already had six Xperia X models last year (Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact).

The leak, coming from Japan site Sumahoinfo.com and spotted by Slashgear.com, includes a lot of information regarding these five smartphones that should be unveiled at MWC 2017, including the most interesting 5.5-inch 4K (3840x2160) flagship, codename Yoshino, which we wrote about earlier and which should be a worthy successor of the Xperia XZ smartphone, especially if it ends up with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM and the Sony IMX 400 camera sensor.

The next in line is a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560x1440) smartphone, codename BlancBright, which could feature either the Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon 635 SoC, 4GB of RAM and the same IMX 400 sensor.

In order to hit the mid-range sweetspot, Sony prepared two smartphones based on Mediatek's Helio P20 SoC. The first, codename Keyaki, will feature a 5.2-inch FHD (1920x1080) screen, 4GB of RAM, and a 23-megapixel rear camera. The second, codename Hinoki, will have a 5-inch HD screen (720p) 3GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel main camera.

The entry-level smartphone, codename Mineo, does not come with any known specifications, other than it would fit a US $350 price tag range.

Since Samsung called dibs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC, it is highly unlikely that Sony's two high-end smartphones will be coming before April but it should all be clear as soon as Sony's MWC 2017 keynote kicks off on February 27th.
