Xiaomi Note 2 Pro with Snapdragon 821

Xiaomi will launch two new phones on 27 September and both will have the snappiest Snapdragon 821 SoC.

Xiaomi Mi 5s has been the subject of quite a few rumours. It is a speed update to a Xiaomi Mi 5 phone launched in February. The S has the Snapdragon 821 which is a 10 percent faster CPU and Adreno 530 GPU. It is realistic to expect 2.4GHz maximal CPU clock.

According to a few leaks the Mi 5S comes with 6GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage. It has a support for Dual SIM and runs Android 6.0 based MIUI 8 user interface. It comes with full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display with 95 percent NTSC colour gamut, and 650 nits of brightness.

The Xiaomi Mi5 measures 144.5x69.2x7.2mm and hits the scales at 147 grams. Like most Xiaomi phones this year it comes with USB Type C connector.

According to the phone screenshot Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro could be more advanced. It shares the brand new Snapdragon 821 with Mi5S but it also has 8GB RAM, 256GB storage. This might be the first Xiaomi phone to launch with Android 7.0 with MIUI 8.6.9.8. According to the phone screenshot, the Snapdragon 821 in Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro will be clocked to 2.6GHz. This sounds faster than the 10 percent Qualcomm promised in the Snapdragon 821 announcement. Snapdragon 820 is clocked at maximal 2.2GHz.

We will know more in a week but both phones sound promising.
