Windows 10 now supports inter-dimensional travel

Time lord friendly

Windows 10's Fast Ring has an Easter Egg buried in the latest Windows 10 Insider build – the operating system opens a portal to another dimension.

The text is used in a popup error box that states after the usual “[program] has stopped working” text that “Windows is opening a portal to another dimension...” Obviously Windows 10 is opening a portal to a universe where the software did not crash, but then you didn't do the operation which caused the melt-down.

In Doctor Who terms, it is reversing the polarity on the neutron flow, which can only be used as a last resort and when the disaster cannot really be undone.

A little humour is useful for Windows Insiders that are helping test builds of the Windows 10 operating system. It might cheer them up and prevent them from taking an axe to the system, or start thinking that Linux might be a better option. Linux is basically humourless.

It’s highly unlikely this will make its way to public copies of Windows 10, which is a pity really.
