Pokemon GO causes rash of traffic tickets

by on11 August 2016

Violations a-plenty

Traffic police in Taiwan have doled out over 1,000 tickets since Pokemon GO was launched in Taiwan last week.

And according to Reuters, the vast majority of tickets have been issued to scooter drivers.

The cops have told scooter riders not to play the game while they’re driving because of the danger of accidents.

Meanwhile the Taiwanese government has asked people to not play Pokemon GO near the National Palace Museum (pictured) or outside the presidential palace.

The wire reports that people are going to all sorts of places such as the zoo, and gazing at their smartphones rather than looking at the parrots or the lions and tigers.
