British quacks are worried that using your mobile phone could give you a nasty rash.

Apparently, thousands of Brits are filling doctor's waiting rooms with a nasty redness around the ears and cheeks. There is a cure, other than in the Shipman surgery where euthanasia is the standard treatment if you are over 65.

According to the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), people have been catching “mobile phone dermatitis,” a skin allergy caused by too much mobile phone use. BAD says that this red or itchy rash affects people who form an allergic reaction to the nickel surface on mobile phones. Normally, it would not be a problem; but if they spend shedloads of time holding the devices up to their ears as they talk, then they go all red-faced.

Some can get it on their fingers if they spend a lot of time texting on metal menu buttons Dr. Graham Lowe, British Association of Dermatologists warned.

The BAD advises anyone who develops a rash on their face which might be attributable to prolonged mobile phone use to see their doctor, who probably has it, too.
