One seriously huge case

Scythe always tends to come up with something unexpected and the new Innovator case that has just launched in Japan follows the usual pattern of peculiar features and options that we've come to expect from this Japanese company.

For starters, this massive (it measures 605x550x208mm (HxDxW)) case has room for two standard ATX power supplies and comes with a special cable that powers the secondary PSU at the same time as you power on the system.

Although it's a normal steel case, Scythe has fitted a plastic front door to it that hides the six 5.25-inch drive bays. It also has a pair of forward facing 3.5-inch drive bays and six internal 3.5-inch drive bays. It has four front facing USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire port and a headphone and mic jack.

It also comes with a selection of rather unusual thumb screws, in as much as they're rubber coated for better grip. It also has some extra long thumb screws for add-on cards, which should make it easier to install things like graphics cards, etc.

It's not the best looking case we've ever seen and at 14.8kg this is one heavy beast. It's retailing for around €78 in Japan, although we don't know if it'll ever be available outside of Japan.
