Assassin's Creed Unity Patch 4 on hold

by on17 December 2014

Needs more testing before it is released

The upcoming Patch 4 for Assassin’s Creed Unity that was expected for later this week has been put on hold according to publisher Ubisoft.

Patch 4 for Unity was scheduled to arrive this week, but it has been decided that more testing is necessary prior to release so the patch has been put on hold. (We have heard rumors that the patch is about 7GB.)

The decision to hold Patch for was made in the interest of “rigorous quality control” which play feedback has indicated is very important to players. In order to deliver the major performance improvements the Paris map needs to be refurbished and that is going to take a few more days in order to hit the level of quality that our players deserve, says Ubisoft.

Patch 4 has been promised to not only stabilize the game, but swat the majority of the existing bugs and address the frame rate issues that players have been having. While Ubisoft has indicated that it needs additional time for testing and to finish the refurbished Paris map, it apparently is not clear yet if Patch 4 will arrive before the holidays.

Sources tell us that Ubisoft has all hands on deck trying to get it out before Xmas as Microsoft has Unity bundled with the majority of the consoles that have been sold for the holiday and it sure would be nice if the patch was ready for Xmas morning. Microsoft would likely hate to see take to switch from “I got a Xbox One from Xmas and its great!” to “I got a Xbox One for Xmas and after waiting for what seemed like forever, the downloaded version of Assassin’s Creed Unity is buggy and does not show of the system very well.
