Witcher 3 gets pushed back again

by on09 December 2014

This time new release date is May of 2015

CD Projekt RED, the developers of the upcoming Witcher 3 have confirmed that once again, the release date for Witcher 3 has been pushed back. This time the developer is eyeing May 19th as the new release date. This is 12 weeks after the last release date was announced.

The developer sent an open letter to fans saying that the project has been ambitious from the start and they want to deliver an incredible experience and the sheer size and complexity of the game simply require more time to finish.

The developer admits that this is the most important release in the studio’s history and the last release date was set much too hastily. In addition the developers admit that this was a learning experience and the extra 12 weeks will help them to deliver the game that the promised to deliver.

With this second delay of Witcher 3 and based on the letter it is hard to believe that the problem was anything more than just a bad estimate on how much remained to be done. We will just have to wait and see if CD Projekt RED can deliver what was promised in the Witcher 3.
