Desilets opens new studio in Montreal

by on14 November 2014

No idea what they might be working on

Former Assassin’s Creed and THQ Montreal creative force Patrice Desilets has opened a new studio in Montreal. The new studio, which is to be called Panache Digital Games, was apparently co-founded by Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood producer Jean-Francois Bolvin.

Desilets has been the subject of much discussion with his departure from Ubisoft to THQ Montreal, and then back to Ubisoft when THQ Montreal was acquired by Ubisoft after the THQ auction. Then Desilets was terminated in a haze of mystery from Ubisoft with him claiming that his firing was baseless and without merit. Desilets vowed for right for his rights, team, and game against Ubisoft, but we never heard much more beyond then that.

It is unknown what Panache Digital Games might be working on, but we have to believe that it will at least be interesting. From what we have been able to understand, he is still fighting Ubisoft for the rights to 1666 which was the title he was developing for THQ when Ubisoft acquired the THQ assests.
