HTC says sorry for Nexus 9 stuff up

by on06 November 2014

Promotion disaster

HTC has said sorry for a daft Nexus 9 promotion which gave the phone away for $199. The deal was limited, many folks who navigated to HTC's site in an attempt to purchase one and the site overloaded. HTC has posted a public apology on its site, promising a smoother experience with future promotions.

Jason Mackenzie, President of HTC America, offered his apology today to those that experienced any issues when trying to make a purchase during yesterdays "HTC Hot Deals" event. Mackenzie promised to rectify the issues by making future interactions seamless. Frustrated buyers will be able to put this to the test next Tuesday, when HTC will again announce a new hot deal starting at 9am PST.

It is not clear what the outfit will offer, but it is unlikely to be a Nexus 9 again. As far as a promotional idea goes, the “special deal” idea seems to be attracting a lot of attention, but as the Nexus 9 fiasco shows, it is probably getting a little too much attention.
