Advanced Warfare best next-gen seller

by on06 November 2014

Initial sales indicators are very positive

Activision is pretty confident that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be the largest selling title released so far for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 by a significant amount. During an earnings call Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirschberg told investors that it will become “the largest next-gen title in history by a wide margin.”

Hirschberg indicated that they were pleased with the initial launch of Advanced Warfare and key indicators were pointing to a successful launch for the most pre-ordered game of the year. In addition he believes that it will go on to become the biggest game of the year.

Review scores seem to backup Hirschberg, but as of this writing its Metacritic score was only 83 and was only one point ahead of the recently released Sunset Overdrive (Xbox One Exclusive) which has an 82. We are not so sure that the review scores are going to see it pull that far away from the pack. Also there are still several high profile releases to go before the end of the year. Still Advanced Warfare is off to a good start and to that there is no question.
