New PS4 2.00 firmware has issues

by on03 November 2014

Reports of problems with Rest Mode

Reports of problems with “Rest Mode” headline the problems with the version 2.00 firmware upgrade for the PlayStation 4.

This isn’t the only issues as there are also reports of volume fluctuations and unreliable connectivity are also being seen after the 2.00 firmware upgrade. Although the issue of the not being able to turn the PS4 console back on after the unit goes into “Rest Mode” does seem to top our list for problems.

For Sony’s part they claim to be aware of the issues, but they have no ETA on when a possible fix might be on the way. In the meantime, many are suggesting that you should leave your PS4 off till a fix is in the pipeline or you could end up with a bricked console.

As if the PS4 firmware issues were not enough of a problem, those wanting to play in the Alpha testing for Evolve were surprised to learn that Turtle Rock pulled the Evolve Alpha testing because of tester issues with the 2.00 firmware update. No word if it will be rescheduled or not for PS4 users.

All in all, it does not appear that Sony is having a good time with the 2.00 firmware update for the PS4.
