Crew beta starts today

by on02 October 2014

Progress will not carry over

Codes to access The Crew closed beta on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have begun to be issued by Ubisoft. While no end date has been officially announced for the beta, several sources have indicated that the beta will be short lived with it ending on Saturday October 4th.

The closed beta that has started is what Ubisoft is calling a “technical beta” and not a “marketing beta” with the difference being that technical betas are efforts to learn how to improve the game and fix potential issues with the game. In addition developers are looking for feedback in a technical beta to improve the game.

With this being a technical beta, many of the features and functionality of the game will not be available for sure. In addition progress gained during the technical beta will not carry over to the final game.

To get in the beta, you had to register for the beta and had been lucky enough to have been selected. With such a short beta window, The Crew may struggle to find enough people willing to skip playing the just released Forza Horizon 2, but of course that only applied to those on Xbox One.

No word from Ubisoft just yet on how much longer the expect to be issuing codes for the closed beta. Watch your Email is all we can suggest.
