Tegra K1 in iPad disguise

We we've been impressed by Xiaomi Mi Pad since the day it was released. This Chinese company launched the world's first Tegra K1 based tablet in mid May and was only asking $239 from eagre Chinese consumers interested in the 16GB model.

After a lengthily wait, the tablet is now available in Europe and USA and we managed to find the 64-GB version in stock. This one will set you down 330 USD + shipping that starts from $19 USD for 7 to 20 days, $32.90 for 3 to 7 day DHL and $47 USD for 4-15 working day EMS.

EU customers have a neat option called EU warehouse and if you are willing to add $48 on top of $329.99 Xiaomi shop will ship a device from his EU warehouse custom and hassle free. this shipping option will take some 2 to 5 days. When you add the EU warehouse shipping cost, you end up paying $378 for the $64 version of the table and that translates for 280 euro at the current exchange rate.

This is actually not a bad price for 7.9-inch iPad lookalike with a great spec, but it is a far cry from $239. Let us remind you that there are at least three more weeks before Shield Tablet gets to its first EU customers and the new Nexus is coming later.

In theory the Xiaomi tablet might actually do quite well in Europe among consumers that do not want to pay the iPad premium and can live with the MIUI user interface on top of Android. However, Xiaomi is not too interested in the European market yet, so shipments are bound to be limited.
