Nokia tablet makes it to Germany

by on06 March 2014

Been in UK for ages

The Nokia tablet with Windows 8.1 RT and LTE modem is finally available in Germany after being on sale in the UK since Christmas. Nokia should have been cutting its own throat by delaying the sale in one of the EU’s biggest market, only the biggest competitor is Microsoft’s Surface 2. Redmond bought Nokia so it appears it did not see a need to hurry.

The Lumia 2520 will be available from 10 April for 599 euros with a matte black or glossy red surface. There is also a keyboard cover with extra battery for 199 euros. The Nokia Lumia 2520 is a little easier to use than the Surface. It has a very bright IPS display which can be seen outside better. The 32 GB of internal storage can be upgraded with microSD memory. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor has 2 GB of RAM available. Unlike Redmond's Surface, there is no Pro version with an Intel processor and full Windows.

What will annoy the Germans is the price tag which at 600 euros is nearly 200 euro more than what the gizmo is on sale for in the UK.
