Nintendo hinting at a major reveal next year

While it is pretty well known at this point that Nintendo is working on a new Zelda title for the Wii U. What we don’t is pretty much everything about it. Zelda boss Eiji Aonuma has let the cat out of the bag so to speak, all but confirming that we should expect major Zelda announcement next year at E3.

It is not known if Nintendo would be returning to E3 as an actual exhibitor or just to host a press conference. Nintendo opted not to show at E3 in 2013, but rather to try a number new ways to get the word out to Nintendo fans including the new Nintendo Direct webcast that the company has been producing since last year.

Sales of the Wii U are up, but considering that they had no place to go but up, that really isn’t a big surprise. The sales surge has been due to the re-release of a new HD version of Legend of Zelda: Wind Walker which was a GameCube title that has had and HD makeover. It is difficult to say, but we hardly expect the Wii U to sustain the sale momentum that it has experienced over the past could of weeks since its release.
