Exceeded Microsoft sales projections

Microsoft kicked some serious butt this Black Friday, with the company confirming that during Black Friday week the company was able to sell 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles in the US. The sales numbers beat Microsoft’s own projections and doubled the sales of the Wii U.

Pretty much everyone admits that the shortage of Wii U consoles contributed to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 sales numbers. Nintendo could have sold more Wii U consoles if they would have had more to sell on dealer shelves, but the lack of consoles was Microsoft’s sales gain.

While we have not been able to confirm Sony’s Black Friday sales numbers, retailers and analysts that we have spoken with were not optimistic that Sony would be able to beat Microsoft in sales for Black Friday week. “I just don’t see it happening, as Microsoft clearly had the best Black Friday deals which helped them to move more consoles,” one analyst told us.
