Bethesda censors Fallout 3 in Japan

No nuclear bomb activation

In a move that could only be described as politically correct, Bethesda censored the Japanese version of Fallout 3.

Our colleagues from Kotaku.com report that the changes involve removing a side-quest “The Power of the Atom”, ditching the NPC Mr. Burke and the option to detonate the nuclear bomb.

The name of a certain weapon was also changed, as it would be totally inappropriate in Japan, most likely the mini-nuke launcher “Fat Man.”

The move wasn’t quite welcomed by Japanese gamers, and no wonder, as political correctness is not something you’d want spoiling your game.
