Russian hackers take down Yushchenko's site
Revenge attack by the nerds
Russian nationalists claim they have disabled the official Website of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko in a retaliation cyber attack.
The group, called the Eurasian Youth Union, said it had acted because its own Website had come under attack by Ukrainian authorities. The EYU's leader is banned from Ukraine for having vandalized Ukrainian national symbols.
Yushchenko's Website, www.president.gov.ua, was hit on Sunday.
More than 18,000 separate cyber attacks against the Website came from Britain, Israel, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and the United States. According to the Interfax news agency, the group has indicated that Yushchenko's site will not work again until Kiev stops its attacks against the official Website of the Eurasian Youth Group.
