MSI officially announces its XPower X58

The latest Big Bang motherboard

MSI has officially announced its latest addition to the Big Bang series motherboard lineup, the Big Bang XPower X58.

As you could have guess from the name, this one is based on the X58 chipset and features MSI's Military Class components (Hi-C CAPs, Solid Caps, Icy Chokes), uses SuperPipe passive cooling system, has APS (Active Phase Switching), 16-phase DrMOS VRM (dual phase design with 6-phase CPU and 2-phase for PQI/Memory), as well as MSI's OC Genie overclocking tech and V-Check points.

As far as the specs go, the new Big Bang XPower X58 features six DDR3 memory slots, six PCI-Express x16 ports, two SATA 6.0Gbps and six SATA 3.0Gbps port, two USB 3.0 ports and two eSATA, PCI-Express x1 Quantum Wave sound card with support for Creative EAX Advanced HD 5.0, dual Gigabit LAN and Firewire.

The new Big Bang should appear in retail as of May with a price tag of around €300.
